Butterscotch Cookies
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Ingredients;
¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup shortening
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar packed
1 egg
1 1/3 cups sifted all purpose flour
¾ teaspoon soda
¾ teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Melt butter and shortening. Add sugars and mix well. Add the egg and beat till light colored. Then sift the flour with the soda and stir into the egg mixture. Then add vanilla and nuts and chill.
When chilled enough for easy handling roll the dough into small balls and bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
