CLEANING TOASTER OVENS

Appliances must be cleaned regularly to assure that they continue to be efficient, sanitary and to ensure that they will be useful for a long time. Toaster ovens in particular are no exception. There is no doubt that they are a mainstay in the kitchen. They are small, compact and deliver satisfaction every single time. They are used every day, hence they are more prone to wear and tear and must be cleaned for hygienic considerations.
In cleaning appliances, one must always make sure that they are turned off and unplugged from the electrical source. To prevent getting burns, let the toaster oven cool down completely. Attempting to clean it while it is hot is definitely a no-no.
The next step is to remove the crumb tray. The crumb tray catches all the crumbs, oil and other fluids, hence it is important to clean it regularly to prevent bacterial build up. Experts suggest scrubbing it with a dish detergent, lukewarm water and a nonabrasive sponge to prevent leaving unsightly scratches on it.
Next, wipe the exterior down. A lint-free cloth will be useful for this purpose. The shiny surface of your toaster oven will be maintained, as well as be assured that it is sanitized by combining spraying the outside with a sanitizing spray for toaster ovens.
After cleaning the exterior, careful attention must be given in cleaning the interior. Check out the areas that have accumulated the most build-up of grease and other substances. For stubborn and hardened build-up of grease, it is wise to wipe them first with soapy water and a sponge and leave them for several minutes to loosen the dirt up. Experts also suggest using warm soapy water to help in dissolving the grease. Should difficulty be encountered in removing the grime, a vinegar solution can be used to wipe off the grime off as well as get rid of unsavoury smell. Once the grease is dissolved, wipe off the dregs with a damp lint-free cloth for a shiny finish.
Depending on how many shelves your toaster oven has, each shelf must be removed and cleaned with lukewarm soapy water. For stubborn build-up, one may use a soft brush. Some have advised soaking them on warm, soapy water for a few minutes to loosen up the build-up. After rinsing and wiping thoroughly with a clean dish cloth, they may now be placed inside the toaster oven.
When unsure or uninformed as to how to properly clean your toaster oven, it is best to ask experts or consult your technician. In no case should one try to clean a toaster oven that appears to have malfunctioned. It is better to consult a technician to check the electrical components before finally cleaning your toaster oven.
Toaster ovens are small but efficient, especially if they are cleaned regularly. Homemakers who have learned from experience suggest cleaning up the toaster oven cursorily after each use to make the thorough cleaning, which may be done once a week, easier.
Lastly, the interior and exterior of toaster ovens must be thoroughly dried up before being plugged in for use. And don’t forget, plug only when your hands are likewise dry to prevent electrocution.
